European Hill Hunt

Our unique topography at the Pheasant Ranch allows us to provide a hill hunt like you are hunting the hills of Scotland. Josh Miller, owner of River Stone Kennels and partner of the Pheasant Ranch, breeds and trains British Labradors. He has made countless trips overseas to enjoy the phenomenal dog work, visit with close friends, and on the search for up and coming dogs. During his time there, he has seen various styles of hunting. Once he laid eyes on one of the farms in Missouri, he knew he wanted to replicate it the hill hunt for everyone in the United States to enjoy.

During this hunt, there will be multiple gunner stations. As birds are flushed from the top of a hill, it will allow hunters the opportunity for some very fun and sporty shooting. The guides will use their dogs to retrieve the downed birds or if you want to bring your dog, it is a great opportunity to get your dog a lot of retrieves.
